Project 6 "Final Project of Fabricated Seashells."

Hi everyone, so this is the last project that I did for my Sculptor class.
For this assignment Mrs.Willcocks assigned us students to create a piece made up of the things we collected throughout this semester, and we must develope something that represents any type of statement. So for my 100 fabricated seashells that I made and collected throughout this semester I decided to create a political statement that dealt with net fishing. The reason why I chose net fishing is because many mammals other then fish get caught in the nets and kill them. This political statement has been well known for awhile, and most net fishing in the USA is abandoned. Since my collected items where seashells I wanted to make a political piece that dealt with the sea.
Mrs.Willcocks gave me the idea to make this piece in a shape of a globe, and have my seashells in some way be attached to the globe. So I decided to make this piece circular. My design elements is to have the fishing sail boat in the center, so that would be the center focus. The captured mammals would be underneath the boat. My fabricated seashells surround the image to give the piece a beach setting.
This piece is made up of a wood circle, acrylic paint, glass, sand, sticks, wire, and my fabricated seashells.
